10 years in prison for hardened criminals

It is a case of attempted murder and assault on a person in a settling of scores that justice handled yesterday at the Annaba criminal court. The genesis of this case dates back to the day of July 11, 2023 when the six detainees wanted to attack the victim Yassine over money obtained from drug trafficking. The criminals owed a certain amount of money to the victim following a purchase of drugs from the latter who demanded his dues. One of his friends who was one of the attackers offered him a Machiavellian arrangement. He took her out of trust to a parking lot not far from their neighborhood to fall prey to his accomplices, in this case the five other criminals, to slit her throat and attack her with a sharp blade, notably a box cutter. Certainly the idea attached to the act the criminals fell on him and slit his throat then they fled. Fortunately, the victim Yassine was urgently rescued by kind people who took him to the Ibn Roch university hospital emergency room in the city. The victim was incapacitated for 45 days by the doctor. At the hearing the victim recounted the facts in detail, obviously involving all the accused present in the detainee box. The defendants’ lawyers argued for the lack of evidence and the inconsistency of the testimony provided. The attorney general demanded a 10-year sentence for all the alleged perpetrators. At the end of the trial, the defendants were found guilty by the jury and sentenced to ten years of imprisonment for their crime.
