No respite against drug traffickers who try to flood the country in tons of drugs from Morocco and millions of psychotropic capsules that come from Libya and the countries of the Sahel, the Algerian borders are surrounded by drug trafficking of all kinds, but the response, even the barrier of the security services, in coordination with the forces of the National Army (ANP) is fierce.
In six months, the various central brigades and services of the fight against drug trafficking, falling under the DGSN, have fulfilled their contract well by overcoming almost 9,700 drug traffickers, by dismantling hundreds of criminal networks and recovering a large batch of drugs and psychotropic drugs, or even 4 tonnes of Moroccan treated kif and more than 12 million Psychotropic tablets without forgetting the confiscation of nearly 300 kg of cocaine, this is what the two quarterly assessments respectively show the first and second quarters of the current year.
Thus, during the first quarter of the year 2025, the national security services seized more than a ton of cannabis, 196 kg of cocaine (hard drugs) and 7 million psychotropic drugs, according to the quarterly report made public in April passed by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to said assessment, the national police seized “1 ton, 282 kilograms and 433 grams of cannabis, 7.1 million psychotropic tablets, 196 kilograms and 24 grams of cocaine, as well as 88.28 grams of heroin”, according to a statement made public by the DGSN.
Also, and during the first quarter, no less than 49,024 criminals were arrested for their involvement in these cases, confirming the extent of the scourge and the intensity of police mobilization. These results, communicated by the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), testify to a relentless commitment against criminal drug trafficking networks. Regarding the operational assessment representing the second quarter, the various units under the national security managed to grasp more than 2.6 tonnes of treated kif from Morocco.
In a press release made public the day before yesterday, the DGSN revealed the operational assessment of its activities in the field of drug trafficking, through which national security has announced the recovery of more than 2.6 tonnes of treated cannabis from Morocco (first producer and drug exporter to the world) and more than 5 million psychotropic capsules as well as 100 kg of cocaine cocaine Forget the arrest of more than 9,600 individuals involved.
“Two tonnes, 610 kg, 886 g of cannabis resin and 5,557,886 psychotropic capsules were seized by the national security services during the second quarter of the current year”, this is what the quarterly balance of the General Directorate of National Security reported. The DGSN also reported the seizure of the quantity of hard drugs made up of 100 kg and 871 grams of cocaine and 926 grams of heroin. These anti-structuring operations also allowed the arrest of 9,686 individuals involved in these cases, the DGSN still underlines.
