124 milliards de centimes et 1 million d’euros saisis chez un gang à Oran – Le Jeune Indépendant


A gang made up of nine members including businessmen specializing in money laundering was arrested in Oran in possession of 124 billion cents, more than a million euros, 94,000 dollars and other foreign currencies, a statement of the wilaya security announced on Wednesday.

As part of the fight against money laundering and organized crime, the Regional Brigade for the Fighting Organized Crime (SRLCO) of Oran led a large -scale operation, under the supervision of the competent prosecution. The operation made it possible to harm an organized criminal network made up of nine individuals, according to the press release.

“The seizures made are considerable: nearly 124 billion cents, more than 1.08 million euros, more than 94,000 US dollars, other foreign currencies and 14 tourist vehicles,” said the text.

“The case was launched following the careful exploitation of information which led, in coordination with the security services of Mostaganem, to discover a huge sum in dinars hidden in a Master -type utility vehicle,” adds the security of wilaya.

The investigations then allowed the arrest in Oran of two other members of the network and the seizure of additional sums in dinars and currencies in their home.

The research has also led to the discovery of more than a million euros and $ 94,000, carefully hidden in a luxury vehicle belonging to one of the suspects, in one of the districts of Oran, we still read in the press release.

Thanks to the pursuit of surveys, four other individuals were identified and arrested in Relizane. An additional sum in national currency and foreign currencies was seized in Algiers in a trade related to the network.

In total, nine suspects have been arrested, including four officials and five economic operators. Presented before the public prosecutor near the economic and financial criminal center of Algiers, they will have to answer heavy accusations related to money laundering and organized crime, the text concluded.
