15 people saved in the sinking of a pleasure boat off Matarba

Fifteen (15) people, including children, were saved this Saturday from drowning following the sinking of a pleasure boat on Saturday off the coast of Matarba, in the commune and district of Mostaganem, we learned from the Civil Protection Directorate of the Wilaya. The communications officer for this directorate, Lieutenant Mohammedi Mansour, specified, referring to the statements of the shipwrecked, “that the victims went out to sea around 12:53 this Saturday. A few minutes later, they were surprised by turbulence at sea which caused their boat to capsize. The rapid intervention of the Civil Protection units of Mostaganem made it possible to provide the necessary care to the fifteen victims, before their evacuation to the Mostaganem University Hospital,” stressed the communications officer. An investigation was opened by the competent services to determine the causes and circumstances of this accident.
