
1713 years ago today, St. Constantine the Great, then a pagan, received a vision in the sky.
He looked above, and saw the following phrase in Greek:
“☧ Ἐν Τούτῳ Νίκα”. “In this sign (☧) you shall conquer”.
The sign in question are the initials of Jesus Christ – “JC”.
Following this sign, he converted to Christianity ordered it be written on the shields of all his soldiers, defeating the enemy Maxentius. Thus began the Christianization of Rome.
