29 morts et 585 blessés en 48 heures – Le Jeune Indépendant


Twenty-nine people died and 585 others were injured in road accidents that have occurred in recent 48 hours in several wilayas, a civil protection statement said on Saturday. The heaviest toll was recorded in the wilaya of Algiers with 18 dead and 24 other injured, following the slippage of a passenger transport bus ensuring the deserted Réghaïa-Gare Taffoura, followed by a fall in El-Oued El Harrach, said the same source, stressing that significant human and material resources have been mobilized to help the victims.

In addition, the death of two people were recorded, by drowning in the water reserves, in the wilayas of Tlemcen and M’Sila. However, the civil protection system for monitoring the beaches authorized for swimming allowed the rescue of 1,557 people of a certain death, the care of 602 people on the premises and the evacuation of 150 others to local health structures, according to the same source.

During the same period, the civil protection units also intervened for the extinction of 9 urban and various fires in the wilayas of El Taref, Tizi Ouzou, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Blida, Touggourt, Annaba, Mila and Boumerdes who recorded the death of a 40 -year -old man, following the fire that declared himself Ground floor of a building in the town and Daïra de Issser.

With regard to the forest and harvest fire fighting system, the civil protection teams have extinction of 48 fires in several wilayas.
