30 terroristes neutralisés durant le 1er semestre – Le Jeune Indépendant


Thirty terrorists and 223 support elements were neutralized during different operations carried out by units and detachments of the National People’s Army (ANP), during the first half of 2024 across the national territory, indicated an operational report made public by the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).

The Armed Forces have also discovered and destroyed 10 casemates and shelters serving as refuges for terrorist groups, as well as the recovery of 26 firearms, 23 bombs of different types and quantities of ammunition, the statement added. “In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the ANP have carried out, during the first half of 2024, several operations that have resulted in qualitative results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory,” noted the MDN. He affirmed that these efforts work to thwart all attempts aimed at undermining the security and stability of our country as well as its sovereignty.

In terms of the fight against organized crime, the various units of the ANP “have increased their efforts to counteract the scourge of drug trafficking in our country.” This has led to the arrest of 1,432 drug traffickers and the thwarting of the introduction of 176 quintals of processed kif from the borders with Morocco, while 129 kilograms of cocaine and 11,726,988 psychotropic tablets were seized.

Likewise, these qualitative operations led to the arrest of 6,026 individuals and the seizure of 860 vehicles, 2,164 jackhammers, 3,587 generators, 156 metal detectors, 86 tons of stone and raw gold mixture, as well as 360 hunting rifles, 1,096,027 liters of fuel, 10 tons of tobacco and 2,307 tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation. In addition, combined detachments of the ANP apprehended 13,573 illegal immigrants of different nationalities throughout the national territory.
