Online registrations launch tomorrow Tuesday

The Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdeldjebbar Daoudi, announced yesterday Sunday in Algiers the introduction of 32 new university courses for the 2024/2025 academic year. “The 2024/2025 academic year will see new courses and specialties launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research,” he said.
Speaking on the airwaves of Channel I of the National Radio, where he was the guest of the program “Morning Guest”, Abdeldjebbar Daoudi affirmed that these new disciplines include new branches in translation and architecture in particular, but also, automobile construction technology, textile engineering, the Chinese language and various medical specialties.
Noting that the launch of new specialties is intended to be an adaptation of the Algerian university with the new Algerian economic reality now turned towards the diversification of resources and more industry.
The other new feature of the 2024/2025 academic year, he continued, is the accreditation of five new specialties within the framework of the double degree at 8 universities across the national territory.
“Today, medicine is opening up to other professions. So, we train a doctor and at the same time, he will have the big data diploma in Oran, Annaba, Batna 2, Ouargla, Sétif 1.
Medicine with AI (artificial intelligence), medicine with medical psychology as well as medicine with health economics. Specialties that will allow training doctors with skills in new technologies as part of Algeria’s efforts to modernize its health system,” he added.
And to return to the new digital platform for artificial intelligence and data mining, launched at the end of April, to support new high school graduates of the 2024 session in their choice of studies.
“This platform, intended for new high school graduates, uses artificial intelligence in the form of simulation to help students in the process of orientation and choice of fields and training courses in which they wish to register with higher education institutions, and gives estimates of the success rates for these choices,” observed Abdeldjebbar Daaoudi. This platform, he said, was based on the orientations of high school graduates from previous years. “The simulation process is carried out by entering the grades of the subjects obtained by the student during the baccalaureate, and the digital platform provides estimates on the fields and courses that the student could choose, as well as sequential suggestions for specialties,” he noted.
Affirming that high school graduates of the June 2024 session will be able to use this digital platform created to identify the sectors and specialties best suited to their abilities and grades, using, he continued, artificial intelligence and data analysis techniques.
The guest of Channel I also returned to the three applications set up to facilitate access for new students. Citing the application “discover your opportunity” intended for orientation, the application “your orientation” which allows to consult the specialties, the sectors and the fields of study according to the average obtained in the baccalaureate, and the third “discover the professions” which aims to help students to choose a specialty in line with their professional aspirations.
Assuring that the start of the university year will be marked by the use of digital tools, referring to the “Zero paper” approach.
“What distinguishes the next academic year is the digitalization of all operations concerning orientation and pre-registrations as well as final registrations,” he observed.
