Thirty-four candidates for the presidential election of September 7 have collected, until last Sunday, the forms for the subscription of individual signatures.
This was announced by the National Independent Electoral Authority (ANIE).
The operation of withdrawing individual signature subscription forms continues at the ANIE headquarters, at the Palais des Nations (Algiers).
The submission of forms by applicants for candidacy will be done at the 4,903 legalization points distributed throughout the national territory.
The examination of the files by the ANIE “will continue until July 27, the date on which the final list of candidates whose files will be transmitted to the Constitutional Court for final validation will be announced.”
It should be noted that political circles are still waiting for the official announcement of the candidacy of the outgoing president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. For several weeks, calls from parties and associations have been increasing, inviting the head of state to run for a second term.
On this subject, a national conference will be organized by the three political parties known as the Electoral Support Alliance (FLN, RND and the Moustakbel Front). This meeting is scheduled for next Saturday in Algiers, in a room that has not yet been revealed.
According to our information, this conference will be used by the leaders of the alliance to publish a joint and solemn declaration, reiterating their position of support for the candidacy of President Tebboune.
This conference, led by experts, economists, academics and senior executives from the three political parties, will also take stock of the five years of Tebboune’s first term, from December 2019 to date.
The leaders of this alliance, who could see the return of the president of the El Bina movement, want, through this conference, to put into practice the achievements obtained under the era of President Tebboune, particularly on the socio-economic and diplomatic levels, despite the strong turbulence and security tensions and the crises that are shaking the world and Algeria’s immediate neighborhood, particularly in the Sahel.
These achievements will be documented by numerical assessments and statistics in all areas.
It is worth stressing that this electoral alliance is important in view of the September elections.
It is a significant political force, influential on the social scene and very present among the traditional electorate.
The three parties that compose it weigh almost three quarters (in number of elected representatives) in the human components of all national institutions, from the APN to the APC, including the APW. In other words, it is the absolute majority guaranteed for their preferred candidate.
Furthermore, as part of facilitating the operation of legalizing individual signature subscription forms for the benefit of applicants for candidacy, the legalization cells for these forms will remain open every day of the week, including Fridays and public holidays, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In this context, the ANIE reminds that the national identification number (NIN) is not obligatory to complete the subscription form and that the use of the classic identity card in the legalization operation remains in force.
If the voter card is not brought when signing the individual subscription form for the benefit of the candidate for the candidacy, the person concerned can withdraw the certificate of registration on the electoral roll at the level of the legalization cells of the individual signature subscription forms, according to the same source.
