Sometimes I wonder if Iranian news outlets got their journalism degrees from an Indian university, because this is not much different than Iran’s downed F-35 claims.

And for those who say I shouldn’t be criticizing Iranian media: Wrong. They have a responsibility, they are required to have at least basic integrity, and they have a job to do, especially in times of war. Their ridiculous claims led to permanent reputation damage.

And btw, those were not just some private media outlets or even semi-government outlets. Such claims were reported by STATE media, including IRIB, and they never had the decency to issue a correction.

I sincerely hope our media learn from this and do it differently during the next war. And I hope people understand that my criticism comes from a place of care and concern.
