🇮🇶/🇺🇸 NEW: The U.S. Department of War confirmed for the first time this week that the U.S. military was withdrawing from Iraq after quietly leaving its bases in Iraq, except for Iraqi Kurdistan, last month

While Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed that the U.S. will “reduce its military mission” he did not explicitly mention the deal agreed to by the Biden Administration last year, which the Trump Administration is adhering to, and instead claimed the reason was success in fighting ISIS.

Additionally, an Iraqi Security Official, speaking to the Associated Press stated that only a very small number of advisors remain at the Joint Operations Command in Baghdad and that most American forces left the country with some relocating to Erbil, indicating a much more rapid and substantial withdrawal.
