IDF: Following the completion of the identification process by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, in cooperation with the Israel Police and the Military Rabbinate, IDF representatives informed the families of Amiram Cooper and Sahar Baruch that they have been returned for burial.

According to the information and intelligence available to the IDF, Amiram Cooper was abducted alive by Hamas from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. It is estimated that he was murdered in captivity in February 2024. Amiram was 84 years old at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife, four children, and 11 grandchildren.
His wife, Nurit Cooper, was also abducted and later released from Hamas captivity in October 2023.
Final conclusions will be made upon completion of the examination of the circumstances of death at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine.

According to the information and intelligence available to the IDF, Sahar Baruch was abducted alive by Hamas from his home in Kibbutz Be’eri. It is estimated that he was murdered in captivity on December 8th, 2023. Sahar was 25 years old at the time of his death. He leaves behind parents and two brothers. His brother, Edan Baruch, and his grandmother, Geula Bachar, were murdered in the attack on the Kibbutz.
Final conclusions will be made upon completion of the examination of the circumstances of death at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine.

The IDF expresses deep condolences to the families, continues to make every effort to return all the deceased hostages, and is prepared for the continued implementation of the agreement.

Hamas is required to fulfill its part of the agreement and make the necessary efforts to return all the hostages to their families and to a dignified burial.
