IDF: During a dedicated discussion on the drone threat along Israel’s western border, the Chief of the General Staff instructed to concentrate multi-agency efforts and resources to address the phenomenon.
The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, held a discussion today (Wednesday) on the drone threat along the western border. The discussion took place with the participation of the Head of the Operations Directorate, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, the Commander of the Southern Command, and representatives from the ISA and the Israel Police.
The discussion, led by the Operations Directorate, was part of a multi-agency strategic process aimed at formulating a comprehensive approach to address the expanding threat.
The Chief of the General Staff concluded that the drone threat is not merely a criminal one but a security threat with potential terrorist implications. He emphasized the IDF’s and the defense establishment’s commitment to enhancing the operational response while developing new operational capabilities to address it.
The Chief of the General Staff stressed the need for full cooperation between the IDF, the Israel Police, and the ISA, and for establishing a permanent mechanism for operational coordination and collaboration.
