Algerian universities confirm their leading role in promoting entrepreneurship among young people. Between October 26 and November 6, 2025, 96 innovative student projects were selected for funding under the national program to support the creation of university businesses.
These initiatives cover a wide range of sectors, namely industry, agriculture, services, health, construction and public works, sport, tourism, pharmacy, communication and the liberal professions. A diversity that illustrates the vitality of the university fabric and the spirit of innovation that is sweeping campuses.
According to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, this new wave of projects marks an important step in the transformation of student ideas into microenterprises. “The university must become a direct player in economic development. Thanks to the CSVF and NESDA systems, we support young project leaders to move from concept to real creation,” he declared.
The objective of the Ministry of Higher Education is to sustainably anchor the knowledge economy and encourage students to become value creators, not just job seekers.
The selection and financing committees welcomed the richness and variety of the proposals coming from the different regions. Thus, the Mohamed Lamine-Debaghine University – Sétif 2 saw five of its projects selected in the fields of medicine, industry and agriculture.
In Ferhat Abbas – Sétif 1, four projects linked to services and industry were approved, while the Ahmed-Zabana University of Relizane obtained funding in the building and public works sector.
In Béchar, four other projects were validated in the fields of sport and construction.
Other establishments were also honored: Oran 1, Oum El-Bouaghi, El-Tarf, M’sila, Aïn Témouchent, Boumerdès, Saïda, Nâama and Tlemcen, without forgetting several specialized higher schools, such as the National School of Public Works, that of coastal development and the National Veterinary School.
The universities and university centers of Annaba, Batna, Blida, Mascara, Mostaganem, Tissemsilt, Souk Ahras and Guelma are also among the beneficiaries of this program.
An encouraging sign which testifies to the diffusion of the entrepreneurial spirit and the culture of innovation throughout the university territory.
For the ministry, these results reflect a solid national dynamic and a profound change in mentality: students are now engaging in productive projects, aware that entrepreneurship can be a path to the future.
This policy is part of the State’s strategy aimed at building a knowledge-based economy, focusing on creativity, applied research and innovation.
The support provided to these 96 projects marks a new stage in the emergence of a university ecosystem capable of generating wealth, employment and local solutions.
