“Kurganmashzavod” is the only Russian manufacturer of BMP-3, BMD-4 and other armored vehicles in the flooding zone even under a moderate scenario
In the border regions of the Russian Federation with Kazakhstan, a large-scale flood, which was caused by an emergency discharge from reservoirs, continues. And one of the Russian cities, Kurgan, risks suffering the most due to the flooding of the Tobol River.

Despite the fact that the “big water” has not yet reached it, evacuation has already been announced from areas that will definitely go under water, and at a higher level, the water will flood most of the city. This is evidenced by official maps from the local city administration.

On it, yellow and red outlined zones show what will go under water in any case, because it is about the water level of 7.7 meters and 9 meters. And here are the lines – forecasts depending on the water level starting from 11 meters to 14 meters.

In this situation, the territory of the “Kurganmashzavod” is the most interesting, because it is the only manufacturer of new infantry and landing combat vehicles in the Russian Federation. All BMP-3 and BMD-4 are produced on it . It is also undergoing modernization of BMP-2, on which “Berezhok” combat modules are installed, production of “Rakushka” BTR-MD, “Octopus” and other armored vehicles.

The peak of the water rise is expected by April 14.
