The SG of the GECF on a working visit to Algeria

The Secretary General (SG) of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Mohamed Hamel, began a two-day working visit to Algeria yesterday, Tuesday, said a press release from the Ministry of Energy and Mines on Monday. .
During his visit to Algeria, on May 14 and 15, Mr. Hamel will meet the Minister of Energy and Mines and officials of the sector, specifies the press release which underlined that this visit is part of the strengthening joint efforts between Algeria and the GECF in scientific research and innovation.
On this occasion, a short, medium and long-term action plan and program will be put in place for the Gas Research Institute (GRI), which was inaugurated on February 29 in Algiers, on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the GECF, hosted in Algiers.
The GRI aims to be an innovation and research center dedicated to strengthening the understanding and application of gas-related techniques around the world. It is the result of an agreement signed at the beginning of 2023 between the GECF and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, stipulating to host its headquarters in Algiers.
