As part of the preparations for the next presidential elections on September 7, 2024, the president of the Independent National Electoral Authority paid a working visit to Constantine.

Mohamed Chorfi went to the headquarters of the Anie wilaya delegation. He also inaugurated the brand new municipal headquarters located in an old renovated building.

The national manager of ANIE was received on his arrival at Mohamed Boudiaf airport in Constantine by the wali of Constantine, Abdelkhalek Sayouda, the president of the Popular Assembly of the wilaya, elected officials from the two parliamentary chambers, members of local jurisdiction and the wilaya delegate of the authority.

In his speech, the host of Constantine insisted on the fact that the elections of September 7 will constitute a new challenge especially since “the last elections took place in complete freedom, with total transparency and honesty”. For him, the presidential elections of December 19, 2019 were a model of their kind because they did not raise the slightest dispute and the results were recognized as credible both nationally and internationally.

The elections were and will be, he continued, in accordance with constitutional provisions and international standards, before continuing that the Independent National Electoral Authority now constitutes an achievement of the people in the process of democratization of institutions.

Chorfi also wanted to praise the role played and the place held by the press in the elections which recently took place in our country. He used the term “indirect election controller” to describe the journalists.
