Une Nation arabe forte pour la Palestine

A strong Arab Nation for Palestine

President Tebboune’s appeal:

“Algeria has worked, since its accession to the Security Council, to raise the place of the Palestinian cause to the rank of central cause and oldest issue on the UN agenda,” underlined, Thursday, the President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, at the opening of the work of the 33rd session of the Arab Summit in Manama (Bahrain). affirmed that “the Palestinian cause needs, today more than ever, a united and strong Arab Nation, which is at the forefront of its defenders and in the front ranks of those who work for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, as a just, lasting and definitive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. The President of the Republic noted that the Arab Summit was held in a difficult international context and an increasingly complex regional situation, the acute crisis which hit head-on, international relations now being a reality of which the repercussions are felt in all four corners of the world. The President of the Republic spoke of the paralysis of multilateral international action mechanisms, headed by the United Nations and its central organ, the Security Council. This is further proof, he explained, of the seriousness of this acute crisis which jeopardizes the present and future of peace, security, development and prosperity in the world.
For President Tebboune, the Arab region is also going through a pivotal situation, full of challenges and crises whose dangerousness and complexity are reflected in the existential threats that await our brothers in Gaza and the dangers facing the Palestinian cause, aimed at its liquidation. He recalled that “Algeria has worked, since its accession to the Security Council, with loyalty and dedication, to raise the place of the Palestinian cause to the rank of central cause and oldest issue on the agenda of our UN organization, but also as the most important issue to be placed at the top of the priorities of the international community, and to be supported by mobilizing all necessary efforts, given the place it occupies in the hearts of our peoples. In addition to the demands dictated by the current situation in terms of intensifying pressure to put an end to Israeli aggression, guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid and stop the deportation of Palestinians, the President of the Republic is firmly convinced that post-war in Gaza must be completely different and opposed to the pre-war and it calls for the unification of ranks, the federation of energies and the mobilization of efforts for the relaunch of a settlement of the conflict which is under – supported by fair, lasting and definitive bases, in accordance with the international instruments to which the international community has adhered, including references, safeguards and immutable legality. “The post-war period in Gaza must, undeniably, give birth to the Palestinian National Project, consisting of the building of an independent, sovereign Palestinian State, without restrictions, conditions or obstacles of any kind,” he stressed. .
Algeria welcomes the growing momentum of official recognition of the State of Palestine and the increased support given to the project of its admission as a full member state to the UN,” added President Tebboune. The historic decision adopted a few days ago by the UN General Assembly, reflects in its content and its objectives the fact that the basis of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict consists of the sabotage of the Palestinian National Project and that the “Resolving this conflict requires the realization of this project and the acceleration of the construction of the State of Palestine,” underlined President Tebboune.
In the same wake, the President of the Republic reiterated his appeal to the Security Council to “reconsider the admission file of the State of Palestine, allow the international community to redeem itself and seize this opportunity to bring justice to the Palestinian people and enable them to enjoy their rights.” President Tebboune spoke of the situation in Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and other Arab countries, deprived of peace and security. He also reaffirmed the urgency of reforming the Arab League.
