Speaking during the work of the Preparatory Committee for the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments in 2025, Mr. Boughali underlined “the central role of parliamentary diplomacy, through national parliaments or the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in supporting to the activities of the UN and the strengthening of its multilateral action, as well as its efforts to bridge the democratic gap observed in international relations.
The president of the APN said he was convinced that “by involving the representatives of the people in global decision-making and by taking into account the opinions and proposals of parliamentarians, particularly within the UN, this can change the course of the whole world”.
Referring to what was achieved during previous conferences on parliamentary action, Mr. Boughali welcomed the support provided by the IPU, particularly to Parliaments with low financial and logistical resources to essentially strengthen the digitalization process, now essential for the development of administrations and their management.
On this occasion, Mr. Boughali reviewed the experience of the Algerian Parliament, emphasizing the realization of the principle of associating women and young people with political and parliamentary life in particular.
