Une annexe de médecine à la prochaine rentrée – Le Jeune Indépendant


After the announcement by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during his last visit to the wilaya of Médéa, relating to the opening of a specialty agroveterinarian L’agroveterinary is a professional and scientific field that encompasses both agriculture and veterinary care.the long-awaited project to create a medicine annex at Yahia-Farès University in Médéa has just become clearer.

This was during a visit to the site by an interministerial commission responsible for inquiring about the educational and material resources available capable of ensuring optimal conditions for teaching medical sciences at the University of Médéa, that the news has been announced.

The interministerial commission chaired by the president of the national conference of deans of medical faculties, composed of representatives of the Department of Higher Education and Scientific Research as well as the Department of Health and Population, was welcomed by the Dr Djaffar Baarouri, rector of Yahia-Farès University as well as university executives and teachers. The latter provided the necessary explanations relating to the infrastructure and educational equipment installed allowing the opening of an annex to the faculty of medicine at the University of Médéa.

The commission went to the site of the Ouzera university center, housing the faculties of science and technology, where it visited the group of practical work laboratories, in particular the biology, physics and chemistry laboratories, to then go to the educational pavilion made up of 18 tutorial rooms, 4 amphitheaters with a capacity of 300 teaching places each as well as 16 offices to be attached to the future administration of the medicine annex.

To these educational infrastructures, we add the provision of a reading room with 100 seats, a space reserved for teachers and spaces equipped with microcomputers, internet and books, which are available to accommodate students and teachers of 1D year in the new specialty.

As for the component relating to the practical teaching necessary for the specialty, the commission visited the existing installations, the technical platform, the medical and administrative supervision available at the Mohamed-Boudiaf hospital in Médéa. It should be remembered that this establishment is among the major hospitals in the country to claim access to the rank of University Hospital Center (CHU).

Indeed, the EPH Mohamed-Boudiaf in Médéa has a capacity of 540 beds. It is made up of several pavilions and has numerous specialized services and laboratories to provide students and teachers with theoretical and practical training in the best conditions, noted the executives and the medical and administrative staff of this establishment.
