🔸 After a recent surge of illegal immigration, the Island Nation decided to take action against it
‼️ Since last week Cyprus has been patrolling its maritime borders with Lebanon which is the main entry point lately, preventing boats with illegal immigrants to enter Cyprus’ maritime zones and forcing them to go back to Lebanon, making illegal immigration drop significantly (lets see for how long)
⚠️ Cypriot operations started on 16/05, no asylum applications were filed that day and 5 boats with illegal immigrants were sent back to Lebanon, they carried around 400 illegals in total
🔸 Lebanese authorities are also cooperating and have been intercepting boats going to Lebanon to transport immigrants to Cyprus
