The 7the National Festival of Women’s Literature and Cinema will take place from May 23 to 26 in Saida, under the slogan “literature and cinema in another angle” and will welcome Palestine as guest of honor, said the curator of this event, Karim Belkacem Moulay.
The festivities program, which bears the name of the actress artist Bahia Rachedi, offers several literary, cinematographic and intellectual activities. The public will occasionally be there with literary and intellectual sessions at the “Mustapha Khalef” house of culture and arts, hosted by Algerian writers and novelists such as Kaouther Adimi, Linda Chouiten, Fadila Bahlil, Kouidri Iman and Asma Zitouni.
The evenings of the Festival will be devoted to film screenings in the “Dounia Zad” cinema room, among the films proposed for this purpose: “Ben M’hidi”, by director Bachir Draïs, “Frantz Fanon” by director Abdenour Zahzah and “Dounia” by director Rim Laredj, in addition to the screening, premiere in Algeria, of the Palestinian film “Farha” by director Darine Salam.
This event will also see the screening of numerous short films at the House of Culture and Arts which will compete for the “El Kholkhal Eddahabi” prize for best short film and best female role, including the director’s “execution”. Youcef Mahsas and “Desert Rose” by director Oussama Benhassine and “Minister of Darkness” by director Ahmed Riadh, “Lâalam” (the flag) by director Ahmed Aggoun and “The Unknown” by director Ahmed Zitouni.
