Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), began a working visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran on Wednesday, the Ministry of National Defense said in a press release.
“As part of the implementation of the combat preparation program for the 2023/2024 training year, and as a continuation of the inspection visits to the military regions, Mr. Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP, this Wednesday, May 22, 2024, began a working visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran,” specifies the same source.
After the welcome ceremony, given by Major General Mohammed Tayeb Brakni, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the Army General “observed a moment of contemplation in memory of the late Mujahid Ahmed Boudjenane known as Si Abbès, whose headquarters of the Command is baptized with his name, just as he placed a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele, before reciting the Fatiha of the Holy Quran in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada,” adds the press release.
During his meeting with the executives and personnel of the 2nd Military Region, the General of the Army delivered an orientation speech, broadcast by videoconference throughout all the units of the Region, in which he underlined that “ the right to live in peace and security necessarily implies ensuring the construction of a dissuasive defense force that guarantees and preserves this right.”
“All people, without exception, have the right to live in peace and to aspire to security and tranquility. This is a right guaranteed by all human laws and countries around the world are working towards this right, ensuring that they build a deterrent defense force. Any right that is not supported by force would therefore be nothing more than a mirage and an unrealistic objective,” indicated the Army General.
“In this sense, we are working within the ANP, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, to give Algeria the power capable of preserving the right of its people to live with dignity, in independence and sovereignty,” he added.
The Army General stressed that “the ANP ensures the implementation of a global approach, which aims to continuously increase the combat capabilities of the Battle Corps and strengthen the defense apparatus of our country , through the provision of all the necessary human and material potential.”
“To achieve this noble objective, we have implemented a global approach which aims to continuously increase the combat capabilities of our Battle Corps and the strengthening of our defense apparatus, through the training of personnel and preparation for combat units, as well as the qualification of human potential by providing them with the conditions and means allowing them to achieve excellence,” he noted.
Indeed, he affirmed, “we have the firm conviction that the qualified human resource who masters the weapons made available to him and who best accomplishes the assigned missions, is the cornerstone of any development process and the solid foundation on which we rely enormously for the realization of our ambition to build a powerful and imposing army.
“Moreover, we are working to develop our combat equipment and modernize our weapon systems so as to allow the ANP to come into line with the accelerated technological development that the armies are experiencing today, through the world,” he added.
At the end, the floor was given to the staff of the Region to express their concerns and, on this occasion, they displayed their “entire readiness to fully assume their noble missions in the service of Algeria”, concludes the press release.
