Comments on last Tuesday’s meeting of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune with the presidents of political parties represented in the elected Assemblies, national (APN) and local (APW and APC), confirm that the objective she aimed for is essentially the strengthening of the internal front. Generally representative of the political class in Algeria, the party presidents thus had the opportunity to discuss with the Head of State all national and international issues that interest Algeria and its people. The imperative of national stability, essential to the sovereignty of the decisions taken by Algeria, is binding on everyone.
Efforts must converge to provide the country with a strong economy and institutions, to meet the expectations of the Algerian people. To achieve this, organized dialogue bringing together all actors in the political class must serve to build a broad national consensus. Among the four party presidents who participated in Tuesday’s meeting with President Tebboune, (Abdelkrim Benmbarek, Mustapha Yahi, Abdelkader Bengrina and Fateh Boutbig) decided to form a political alliance to achieve a national consensus and build a strong Algeria. These are the party of the National Liberation Front (FLN), the National Democratic Rally (RND), the El Bina Movement and the El Moustakbal Front, “formations sharing common denominators and clear objectives aimed at achieving a national consensus to protect the interests of the people and support all steps involved in building a strong Algeria,” according to Abdelkrim Benmbarek.
The goal: “To strengthen the country’s domestic front in an international and regional crisis situation and in the face of the instability which surrounds it on all sides and the desires of certain parties who want to silence the resounding voice of Algeria in the international fora, in particular at the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, in favor of the oppressed and the peoples still under the colonial yoke, in Palestine and Western Sahara. Observers note that it was time to strengthen this domestic front and overcome differences. We must, they say, focus on the essential: the strategic interests of our country, in a changing, complex and dangerous geopolitical context. For this, observers believe, we must move towards strong political alliances which have a patriotic approach and which fully assume their responsibilities in the face of the challenges facing the country. In short: unify the ranks and strengthen the domestic front, with a prioritization of priorities according to a strategic national perspective.
