Sonatrach livre sa première cargaison de GNL en Croatie – Le Jeune Indépendant

The Sonatrach group announced in a press release this Tuesday that it had delivered its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Croatia, as part of its strategy to diversify gas exports.

Delivery took place at the KRK floating regasification terminal, on May 22, 2024, said the same source.

This cargo, the result of close collaboration with stakeholders in Croatia since the commissioning of this terminal in 2021, with a view to providing the necessary conditions for its completion, was loaded from the GL3Z liquefaction complex in Bethioua (Algeria) and delivered aboard the LNG carrier “Ougarta”, owned by the national hydrocarbon company, the press release said.

Part of the regasified gas “will be transported to Hungary through the Croatian gas network, which allows Sonatrach to supply, for the first time, these two countries with natural gas,” the press release added.

In this context, Sonatrach intends to increase “further its exports to this region, thus consolidating its central role in the security of Europe’s supplies”, the same source underlined.
