New export operations are carried out by companies operating in the agri-food and construction materials sectors, thus confirming the adherence of Algerian companies to the orientation to move more towards international markets.
This concerns the export operation of 46,000 tonnes of cement produced by the Silas company in Annaba, to the United States of America. It was the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, who supervised this operation yesterday from the port of Annaba, where he is making a working visit.
This operation is part of the government’s efforts for the development and promotion of Algerian exports of construction materials and thus the diversification of exports of Algerian products abroad, said the minister, highlighting the achievements of this company. “The Silas company is one of the leaders in this field thanks to its continuous investments in the development of production and the improvement of quality,” said Mr. Zitouni, who affirmed that the Algerian government places the promotion of the sector industrial and the development of its export capabilities, at the top of the priorities. To this end, he reiterated the commitment of public authorities to supporting exporting companies and facilitating administrative procedures to develop this sector.
Accompanied by the wali of Annaba, the minister also gave the order to send an operation to export products from the “Bona” production unit to France.
The minister, who previously visited the production lines and learned about the techniques used by this soft drink production unit, located in the Berrahal industrial zone, affirmed that “this step aims to promote the place of Algerian products on the markets. international markets and also allows the diversification of the national economy.
The minister, who praised the efforts of the management and employees of the Bona unit, which made it possible to achieve these results, underlined the need to respect the standards relating to the sugar level in different drinks. He thus insisted on the importance of respecting health regulations and normative characteristics in order to guarantee the quality of products and also protect consumers.
The Minister of Commerce also visited the Besma factory, specialized in the production of TCL brand household appliances, where he insisted on the need to increase the rate of national integration in the household appliance sector, by using to the use of raw materials in production. This orientation aims to reduce the use of imports, according to the minister, who called for better cooperation between local producers and educational and research establishments in order to develop new techniques and thus improve the level of production.
Mr. Zitouni, who reiterated the ministry’s support for companies that improve the rate of national integration, visited the factory of the Algerian Paper and Printing Company (EAPI). Pointing out the level of quality achieved by the company, the first sales manager stressed the need to prepare as best as possible for the next school year, by guaranteeing quality school supplies at a low price.
