Tebboune was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Army General Saïd Chanegriha. Upon his arrival in Khenchela, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Mr. Said Changriha were welcomed by the local, civil and military authorities of this wilaya. After listening to the national anthem, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune reviewed detachments of different ANP forces, who paid him the honors.
At the same time, fighter planes belonging to the ANP forces which had escorted the President of the Republic aboard his presidential plane flew over the skies of the wilaya of Khenchela. The railway station was the first stop on the tour of
Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune where he inaugurated the commissioning of the ramp of the railway line linking Khenchela and Aïn Beïda (Oum El-Bouaghi). On this occasion, the President of the Republic praised the efforts of all those who contributed to the realization of this project, which entered into service “while some thought that they were only electoral promises”, he said. -he said, affirming that “the era of projects that drag on for years is over, thanks to the efforts of conscientious executives”.
The second stage of Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to the wilaya of Khenchela was the inauguration and commissioning of the project to split road No. 88 linking the wilayas of Khenchela and Batna over a 14 km stretch. The President of the Republic highlighted the importance of this road in “boosting economic activity in the region”.
Continuing his visit to the wilaya of Khenchela, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune laid the first stone of the project to build 600 public rental housing units and followed a presentation on the housing, agriculture, water supply and forestry sectors. in the wilaya. Regarding the Green Dam rehabilitation project, President Tebboune emphasized the imperative diversification of trees, particularly in inhabited areas, calling for giving young people the chance to participate through productive projects. The President of the Republic closed his visit to Khenchela with a meeting with notables and representatives of civil society in the wilaya.
At the start of this meeting, the President of the Republic said he was proud and honored to be in the wilaya of Khenchela, which, he said, “has not benefited from its fair share of programs development in the past. The President of the Republic announced a second complementary development program for this wilaya, which will be added to the first program from which Khenchela benefited, in order to make up for the great delay in terms of development in this wilaya, while not ruling out not “the possibility of a third development program for this wilaya from 2025”.
A warm popular welcome was given to the President of the Republic by the notables and citizens of Khenchela, in recognition of the interest he has in relaunching development in their wilaya. The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed his determination to continue reforms through the revision of the administrative division and the municipal and wilaya codes with a view to conferring more prerogatives on local elected officials. “We are going to carry out broad reforms concerning serious issues, such as the revision of the administrative division of the country in order to remedy the disparities between the wilayas,” revealed the President of the Republic, during a meeting with notables and representatives of civil society in the wilaya of Khenchela at the end of his working and inspection visit. “Before proceeding with a new administrative division, it will be a question of revising the municipal and wilaya code in order to confer broad prerogatives on the presidents of the popular assemblies of the wilaya and on local elected officials in terms of development and management. Which is true democracy,” underlined the President of the Republic. At the same time, he assured that he continued “to preserve the social character of the State in accordance with the Declaration of November 1, 1954”, and to guarantee a fair sharing of the country’s wealth between citizens. And to recall that “1.5 million housing units have been distributed since 2020”. On the economic side, the President of the Republic affirmed that Algeria “is working to build a strong economy and lay the foundations of development to benefit all citizens and all regions of the country”, noting that “unlike many countries, today 99% of the money circulating in our country is Algerian.” Responding to the concerns of civil society and notables in the wilaya of Khenchela, the President of the Republic declared that registrations for the AADL3 program will be open from July 5.
Concerning the housing programs in the wilaya, the President of the Republic affirmed that “it was decided, from this day, to add a quota of 2,000 rural housing units to the 4,000 rural housing units already programmed”, stressing that the mountainous regions “will be allocated aid worth 100 million centimes”.
