5th Military Region of Constantine The fight against the smuggling of psychotropic drugs

Continuing the series of field visits to different Military Regions, Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (APN), yesterday, Tuesday, carried out a working visit and inspection at the Fifth Military Region (RM) of Constantine, where he called on all military units of the said Military Region to strengthen their military systems to fight against the smuggling of psychotropic drugs, while demanding results on the ground. At the beginning and after the reception ceremony, at the entrance to the Command Headquarters (HQ) of the 5th RM, the Army General, Saïd Chanegriha paid tribute to the soul of the heroic martyr ”Zighoud Youssef” by bearing his name at the head of the Command of the 5th Military Region, while laying a wreath of flowers in front of the memorial monument which celebrates him. Subsequently, the Lieutenant General, accompanied by the Commander of the 5th Military Region, went to the Specialized Examination Center for military health services in Mansourah (Constantine), where he inaugurated it before follow two detailed presentations presented by those responsible for managing the new Center, before visiting the different departments and facilities it includes and listening to full explanations of the services it provides to military employees and beneficiaries of the People’s National Army (ANP). Then, Army General Saïd Chanegriha held an orientation meeting with senior executives and personnel of the 5th RM, where he delivered an orientation speech, via videoconferencing technique, through which he warned against the escalating trend in the scourge of smuggling psychotropic drugs of all kinds in our country. “Among the most dangerous threats facing our country today are the despicable attempts to flood it with all kinds of drugs and psychotropic substances, in order to harm the physical and psychological health of the vital forces of the nation, represented by its youth, and to try to demoralize them and push them towards drug addiction and crime,” alerted the Chief of Staff of the ANP during his speech delivered yesterday Tuesday at the 5th Military Region of Constantine. “In this specific context, I would like to draw attention to the dangerous upward trend that the scourge of the smuggling of psychotropic drugs of all kinds is taking in our country, as indicated by the statistics recorded by various security institutions, where the number of seized in very large quantities of these toxins represents a threat. Psychotropic drugs that criminals and enemies of the homeland are trying to introduce into the national territory,” warns the Army General. Calling on the 5th Military Region to make greater efforts to fight tirelessly against drug traffickers and smugglers of synthetic drugs, the Chief of Staff of the ANP assured and reassured that the forces of the ANP will remain at the on the lookout for all those who are at the origin of this dangerous scourge. “In this regard, we, the National People’s Army, attach particular importance to the fight against this dangerous scourge, whose barons and their accomplices, in particular the criminal drug trafficking networks, we will never tolerate, and we will remain ‘on the lookout for anyone who supports and finances it, and we will also always remain ready to face it, by strengthening our military and security arrangements along our borders.’
