Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), supervised, Thursday, on the 3rd and last day of his visit to the 5th Military Region, a tactical exercise with live ammunition, under the theme “El-Azm-2024”. This was stated in a press release from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
“On the third and last day of his visit to the 5th Military Region, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP, supervised, at the Amdoukal Shooting and Maneuvers Polygon, a tactical exercise with live ammunition, under the theme El-AZM-2024, executed by the units of the 1D Armored division, supported by Air Force and technical support units,” said the same source.
The Army General followed, at the start, a presentation presented by the Director of the exercise, Commander of the 1D Armored division, including the general idea and execution phases of the exercise which is part of the Forces preparation program for the year 2023-2024.
At the Firing and Maneuvering Polygon, accompanied by the Commander of the 5e RM, Major General Noureddine Hambli, the Army General closely followed the progress of the exercise which was carried out in conditions close to real, in accordance with the established plan, according to the MDN.
The objectives of this exercise were to improve the abilities of Commands and Staffs to prepare and organize combat actions and coordination between the different forces, to provide Commanders with the necessary experience in leading units, through the strengthening interoperability between units and organic units, allowing crews to acquire greater mastery of weapon systems and assessing the operational availability and capacity of the units engaged to carry out missions successfully, in all circumstances. combat assigned. “This exercise also included a parachute operation into the depths of enemy defenses,” it is emphasized in the same press release.
The execution of this exercise, according to the DND, highlighted the ability of the participating units to successfully accomplish the assigned tasks. This success is the result of the crews’ mastery of various modern high-tech weapons and equipment.
At the end of the exercise, the Army General “congratulated the commanders and staff of the units engaged and, by videoconference, the command and staff of the naval units that took part in the naval tactical exercise “Diraa El-Moutawassit -2024″, for their considerable efforts made during the year of combat preparation, as well as during the preparation and execution of these two exercises.”
On this occasion, he highlighted “the capacities of the said units in terms of assimilation of the objectives of the exercises and rigor of execution of the different phases”, adds the press release, specifying that “these positive and encouraging indicators reflect the level of availability achieved by the units of the 5th Military Region, in particular, and of the various units and formations of the ANP in general.” At the end, Saïd Chanegriha reviewed the participating units which gave him the honors.
