The National Independent Electoral Authority (ANIE) announced the start of the withdrawal of application forms for citizens wishing to run for the next presidential election, scheduled for September 7, at its headquarters located at the Palais des Congrès, Club des Pins, in Algiers. This was stated in a press release from the authority made public yesterday.

ANIE will begin to deliver “signature collection forms from this Sunday, following the summons yesterday of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, of the electoral body, in accordance with article 91 of the Constitution,” underlined ANIE.

Concerning the procedures to follow, it is specified that candidates or their representatives can go to ANIE headquarters to collect the forms by submitting an administrative file including a letter of declaration of intention to apply addressed to the president of the authority (ANIE), the deposit receipt for the kafala paid to the Public Treasury, which is 250,000 DA, a recent photo as well as a copy of the identity card and, if applicable, a power of attorney for the representatives.

It is also possible to complete the procedures via the digital platform https://rdv2024.ina-elections.dz, where they can make an appointment to collect the forms, said the same source.

During the 40 days following the publication of the presidential decree convening the electoral body, candidates for the presidential election will personally submit their declarations of candidacy to the president of the Independent Electoral Authority against receipt. The independent authority will rule on the validity of candidacies for the presidency of the Republic by a legally motivated decision within a maximum period of seven days from the date of submission of the declaration of candidacy, in accordance with articles 251 and 252 of the law. organic relating to the electoral regime.

The decision of the independent authority is notified to the candidate as soon as it is published and he has the right, in the event of refusal, to contest this decision before the Constitutional Court, within a maximum period of 48 hours from its notification. The authority will transmit its decisions relating to the applications, accompanied by the application files, to the Constitutional Court within a maximum period of 24 hours from their publication.

The Constitutional Court adopts the final list of candidates, including the settlement of appeals, within a maximum period of 7 days from the date of sending of the last decision of the independent authority.
