The International Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock and Agro-industry “SIPSA-FILAHA” was crowned with success, given the achievements recorded this 22e edition, closed on May 23, according to the organizers.

A large participation, national and international, especially from the agro-industry sector, the relevance of the themes addressed as well as the presentation of technological advances which are put at the service of agriculture, characterized this “unmissable” meeting of agricultural operators.

This is a positive assessment drawn up by the organizers of this Show. In a press release, the Commissioner of the show and the Filaha Innov’ Think Tank (GRFI), presented a figures report which saw the participation of regular exhibitors, feedback and also new participants and above all the signing of several partnerships.

“The 22e edition of SIPSA has just ended on a very positive note, crowned with success both on the commercial aspect and on the technical conferences”, indicated the organizers, affirming that this event generated significant benefits for exhibitors and enabled the conclusion of numerous promising partnerships.

720 national and international exhibitors, including 200 new companies from 39 countries, took part in this edition hosted by Safex in Algiers on an exhibition area of ​​35,000 m². An increase in professional visitors of 15% compared to the 2023 edition was reported by the organizers who reported the presence of more than 40,000 professional visitors from 66 countries, in addition to the presence of 2,200 investors . This “reinforces the strategic character of the show and underlines the dynamism and the potential of the African market. And it is the African participation, exhibitors and visitors, which was highlighted by the organizers, who note the representation of 26 African countries.

“The participation of around twenty African nations reflects the continental scope of the event. SIPSA is positioning itself more than ever as the platform dedicated to the exchange of expertise and business opportunities in Africa and the MENA region,” it was indicated, in addition to the participation of global agricultural players. and agri-food.

Mauritania’s participation in SIPSA, as the guest of honor, was highlighted by the organizers who highlighted the country’s know-how in the fishing and aquaculture sector. “ The active participation of Mauritania has contributed to strengthening the south-south cooperation links at the heart of SIPSA,” noted the organizers who noted the return of China to SIPSA, the participation of Brazil and the Netherlands as well as the Italy’s arrival at the International Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock and Agro-industry, with a first participation.

This edition also saw the organization of the first edition of the Pan-African Conference on the food issue, in line with the direction of the authorities to open up more towards Africa.

Technological advances at the service of agriculture

The quality as well as the adaptation of the solutions to all the challenges in the sector were highlighted by the organizers. “With an offer spread over 8 key sectors (Agrosupplies, Agro-industry, agri-food production, Livestock equipment, Agricultural machinery, Animal nutrition and health, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Animal production, Plant production) SIPSA offers concrete solutions to each challenge,” it was clarified, affirming that the show offers a balanced and complete representation of the modern agricultural ecosystem. It thus highlights the growing importance of innovation throughout the value chain.

The dynamism of the animal health sector, in particular the progression of the national industry of medicines for veterinary use, the sustained presence of the sector of fertilizers and phytosanitary products resulting from our production and the continuous progress in breeding technologies, large crops and arboriculture with mechanization increasingly adapted to the different profiles of peasant farms, were cited by the organizers, who also noted a strong presence of the agro-industry sector.

The rich program of conferences which accompanied this Show was also mentioned by the organizers who especially highlighted the relevance of the themes addressed. This mainly concerns food security and African agricultural issues. Creativity also had its place during this edition with the recognition of four innovative projects. The meeting for the 23e edition of SIPSA-Filaha is already given. It is scheduled for May 26, 2025.
