Nearly 33,000 Algerian hajis have been transported so far to the Holy Places in good conditions, said this Monday, the head of the Mecca Center of the Algerian mission, Zouhir Boudraa, stressing that 7,000 other pilgrims will join Mecca in the next two days.
Boudraa indicated that all conditions were met to accompany the Algerian pilgrims to Arafat, stressing that the Algerian Hajj and Umrah delegation, represented by the field service offices, inspected the camp and prepared it for receive our pilgrims.
He said, in a statement on national radio, that “everyone agreed on the changes made to the plan of rites (at the level of Mina, Arafat and Mouzdalifa)” and that they will come into force after the endorsement of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmahdi, in his capacity as president of the Algerian pilgrims’ affairs office.
This plan was the subject of preliminary meetings in advance by the section heads of the mission who examined the different stages of the plan in order to modify it at several levels, whether at the level of camps, itineraries or even transport. towards the holy places.
Given that the rites of Mina, Arafat and Mouzdalifa constitute the most important stage of the Hajj, the mission began these preliminary meetings in order to modify and update the plan relating thereto, particularly with regard to the technical and logistical aspects, to carry out the operation, especially since several changes are taking place this year in camps, routes drawn up by the Saudi authorities and transport, he said.
He also assured that the members of the mission, all sections combined, were hard at work to enable Algerian pilgrims to perform the rites of the hajj in complete peace and serenity. It should be noted that 41,300 Algerian pilgrims will be welcomed in Mecca this season, including 23,200 supported by ONPO and 17,200 by travel agencies. The transport of pilgrims to the Holy Places will continue from 12 national airports, through 146 flights, including 88 operated by Air Algérie, 43 by and 15 by Flynas.
