The public prosecutor at the Oued R’hiou court in the wilaya of Relizane, sentenced this Wednesday afternoon, a candidate studying in the management and economics branch, as well as his accomplice, to a sentence of one year imprisonment accompanied by a fine of 100,000 dinars, for attempted fraud during the Baccalaureate exams (BAC session 2024), we learned from a press release from the communication unit at the Relizane Court.
“In application of the provisions of Law 20-06 and under Article 253 bis 06 and 07, the public prosecutor at the Oued R’hiou court informs public opinion that in the context of the fight against crimes affecting the regularity of examinations, a candidate was in contact with his accomplice by means of a mobile phone and a magnetic earpiece. They were prosecuted following the immediate appearance procedure for having committed the offense of fraud of subjects and answers of the final secondary education exams, using means of distance communication,” we read in the press release. At the end of their trial, a one-year prison sentence, accompanied by a fine of 100,000 dinars, was handed down against them, the press release concludes. This first attempt at fraud in the Baccalaureate and the severe sanctions that resulted from it underline the importance given by the authorities to the integrity of school exams, thus guaranteeing equal conditions for all candidates.
