The Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, highlighted the State’s determination to promote nuclear medicine in Algeria through the mobilization of all the necessary means and financial resources, said yesterday Sunday a press release from the ministry .
Speaking at the opening of the work of a Scientific Day on the theme: “Nuclear oncology in the era of theranostics”, organized, the day before yesterday, Saturday, by the National Association of Liberal Nuclear Medicine (Anmnl ), in collaboration with the Algerian Society for Training and Research in Oncology (Safro), Mr. Saihi underlined “the importance of this meeting, which is being held at a time when Algeria is experiencing a turning point in the treatment of cancers and the development of nuclear medicine in general. After recalling “the State’s support for this field, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the use of nuclear medicine in theranostics (diagnosis and therapy), particularly in oncology”, the minister affirmed that “the measures taken in this framework are likely to bring about a breakthrough in the field of nuclear medicine, especially since the State, he said, is determined to promote nuclear medicine through the mobilization of all the necessary means and financial resources.”
