President Tebboune inaugurates the 55th FIA

First economic event in Algeria

Placed under the theme “a gateway for exchanges and partnership and investment opportunities”, the 55th edition of the Algiers International Fair (FIA), the first economic event in Algeria, was inaugurated yesterday at the Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritimes, in Algiers, by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during a ceremony attended by the Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yilmaz, whose country is the guest of honor of the FIA ​​this year .The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), the Army General, Saïd Chanegriha, the Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, as well as members of the Government, and the president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula and local authorities of the wilaya of Algiers.
On this occasion, President Tebboune listened to a presentation made by the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, on the Algerian economy and national production in particular. The President of the Republic visited the exhibition, starting with the Turkish pavilion, where he listened to presentations on the different Turkish companies exhibiting at the FIA.
The President then stopped at the pavilion of the State of Palestine, where he received explanations on the Palestinian pharmaceutical company “Jala”, created in 1944. Then, the President of the Republic received explanations on the military field hospital of the Ministry of National Defense, located on the Place du Palais des Expositions.
President Tebboune also received explanations at the Automobile Industry Development Company of the Directorate of Military Industries of the Ministry of National Defense. The President of the Republic visited the pavilion of the Ministry of National Defense and stopped at the Khenchela Mechanical Construction Establishment. New this year: Algerian-made precision rifles. The President of the Republic also visited the Start-ups Pavilion. As a reminder, nearly 700 Algerian and foreign exhibitors, representing around twenty countries, are taking part until June 29 in this edition organized by the SAFEX group (Algerian Society of Fairs and Exports) through its subsidiary “Algeria Exhibitions”. The FIA, according to its organizers, constitutes “an effective platform for professional networking and long-term partnerships, and an opportunity to discover the cultural and tourist characteristics of Algeria and other countries.” Among the sectors and sectors represented at this fair, whose exhibition pavilions will cover an area of ​​50,000 m2, include agriculture, agro-food, the manufacturing industry, the chemical industry, construction, petrochemicals and Services. It is intended in particular to highlight national production capacities and which promotes investment and exchanges in all areas, notes SAFEX which affirms that this fair “is classified among the most important international meetings, particularly reflecting national economic development and strengthening commercial and professional exchanges through the establishment of an environment conducive to partnership and foreign direct investment.
