The president of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), Mohamed Charfi, affirmed this Tuesday that 27 candidates for the candidacy in the next presidential election have withdrawn, according to the report drawn up this Tuesday morning, the forms for the subscription of individual signatures.
The president of ANIE explained that significant material and human resources had been mobilized for this operation, including more than 14,000 agents. The submission of files by applicants for candidacy at the level of “4,903 legalization points distributed across the national territory will continue until July 18, 2024 at midnight,” he recalled.
Charfi further recalled that the examination of the files by ANIE “will continue until July 27, the date on which the final list of candidates whose files will be transmitted to the Constitutional Court for validation will be announced.”
