The wilaya of Ghardaïa evolves in a master plan of territorial development which blends into the national tourist scene, from the south-south zone of the country, which encompasses eleven communes, with a broad Saharan front which extends as far as ‘on the Malian and Nigerien borders.
The wilaya of Ghardaïa, located 600 km from the sea, constitutes for this area a hinterland with an immense potential for high-quality tourism that can be integrated into sustainable development that would promote the projection of real showcases symbolizing the Algerian destination, with its attributes of sustainability, competitiveness, innovation and originality.
The local master plan developed since the country’s independence establishes a vision focused on interactivity of the structural organization of the tourist offer towards the internal and external markets, the development of the territory’s assets and the prioritization of prospective actions of the sector on the segments of urban, rural, cultural, historical, thermal tourism, or even ecotourism in its diversity.
The action plan of this master plan is personalized and focused on the Seven natural K’sour of the M’Zab valley which, through their original architecture, accentuate its second vocation after agriculture, to direct it directly to the development of local and global tourism, taking into account the gigantic tree reserves, followed by rural and cultural tourism, backed by the wealth of architectural and historical remains.
It is in this context that Ghardaïa celebrated, the day before yesterday, the National Tourism Day, under the aegis of the wali, Abdallah Abinouar, in collaboration with the tourism department of the wilaya, the aim being to integrate into the plan national, adopted by the public authorities, the development and revival of local tourism across the South and the Great South.
The local program setting the 2030 horizons defines the development strategy to be adopted by focusing the considerations on the structural issues of a long-term program, including the objectives to be achieved through the implementation of a program of prior concrete actions, such as the identification of potentialities as well as the development and execution of the local tourism program.
Thus, we deduce that this ambitious projection tends to consolidate the tourist offer, in all its compartments, with a view to developing sustainable local tourism, respectful of environmental originality and the creative genius of the human element, able to highlight effective promotion of the Algerian destination and its varied productive attractiveness.
Ghardaïa, this tourist wilaya par excellence, is located in a strategic economic exchange crossroads, over an area of 86,105 km², favored by the attributes of an architectural topography with varied reliefs, between massifs and the expanse of the great desert, transcended by a consistent water potential. The region also has varied natural environments championing biodiversity, which offer the whole useful range for climate tourism emerging from the freshness of its gardens, architectural discovery tourism, or even agrotourism, accompanied by the leisure and leisure segment. relaxation.
In Ghardaïa, the very picturesque surrounding architectural sites and the beautiful palm groves shaped by the human element have given rise to legendary green panoramas such as, for example, the Ancient palm grove of the M’Zab valley, with its system of sharing the runoff water, unique in the world, the thermal baths of Zelfana, which present constant spurts of hot water, hence its economic exploitation.
