Indeed, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Court of Algiers lifted the veil, the day before yesterday Tuesday, on the balance sheet of its activities for the first five months of the current year, revealing that more than ten thousand arrest warrants were issued and more than 600 billion centimes were recovered from a private company in a single day. Indeed, the public prosecutor at the Court of Algiers, Lotfi Boudjemâa revealed, the day before yesterday Tuesday, during the Open Day organized by the Court of Algiers, that justice recovered 600 billion from a private company and issued 10,124 arrest warrants in five months.
In his intervention on the sidelines of the Open Day on Digitization organized by the Court of Algiers, in the presence of the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Rachid Tabi, the Public Prosecutor Lotfi Boudjemâa announced, the day before yesterday, Tuesday , that according to the census, “there were 10,124 arrest warrants for the entire period from January 1 to the end of last May, of which 6,323 arrest warrants were lifted, i.e. a percentage of 62.46 % of incarceration orders resolved during the same period,” the public prosecutor at the Court of Algiers reported the day before yesterday. Continuing his intervention on the occasion of the Open Day organized by the Court of Algiers, the public prosecutor, Lotfi Boudjemâa observed that, “the court of Sidi M’hamed recorded the highest value concerning the confiscation of financial sums deposited in the public treasury, while estimating that 52 million and 171,720 DA were recovered by the said court before confirming that the largest sum seized in one day exceeded 600 billion centimes, of which 350 billion were paid in the first installment, and the rest is paid in installments whose value has been set at 9 billion and 700 million monthly,” said the public prosecutor of the Court of Algiers. According to Lotfi Boudjemâa, the receipt of the ministerial note activating the conditional release concerning the value of financial fines and legal costs allowed the discharge of more than 421 billion centimes.
Furthermore, and with regard to the liquidation file for vehicles which are not the subject of legal proceedings, according to the public prosecutor of the Court of Algiers, “the number of vehicles administratively seized at the level of the judicial authorities reached 578, and the number of vehicles liquidated rose to 574, with a liquidation percentage of 99.31%,” said Lotfi Boudjemâa.
While the percentage of liquidation of vehicles subject to legal procedures at the level of the Court of Algiers and its affiliated courts during the period from January 1 to the end of May was high, added the public prosecutor, “ at 89.29%, the highest percentage of which was that of the Court of Algiers which handled 93.66% of cases,” he indicated. On the other hand, and concerning the judicial power which has the role of controlling the application of the law and the sanction of its non-compliance, here the public prosecutor of the Court of Algiers, Lotfi Boudjemâa declared that, “the count presented by the public prosecutor includes the number of legal appeals, which amount to 2,633 cassation appeals, including 439 criminal appeals,” he estimated.
Concluding his intervention, Lotfi Boudjemâa underlined that the results of the first five months of the current year of the Court of Algiers are described as excellent given the number of cases resolved and also due to the large financial sums returned by the Court of Algiers during the same period.
