The final of the 57th edition of the Algerian Cup, scheduled for Friday July 5 between MC Alger and CR Belouizdad, at the stadium of July 5, 1962 (5:00 p.m.), will be played in the presence of video assistance to the referee (VAR), announced the Algerian Federation (FAF) on its official website.
“An explanatory circular was sent to the finalist clubs to enable them to properly prepare for their participation in this meeting. A technical meeting bringing together all stakeholders was organized at the FAF headquarters on Wednesday. The final will be played in the presence of the VAR,” specifies the same source.
The president of the Algerian Cup Commission, Lahcene Timbuktu, presented a presentation on the preparations for the “Dame Coupe” final, during the meeting of the Federal Office of the FAF, extended to the national leagues, held Wednesday under the presidency of the boss of the FAF, Walid Sadi, at the National Technical Center (CTN) of Sidi Moussa.
“The Federal Office wishes every success to the finalists of this important national competition and appeals to supporters so that this sporting event is an opportunity to honor the memory of the former glories of the two teams who upheld the values ​​of sport and fair play,” concludes the FAF. Mouloudia qualified for the tenth final in its history, eliminating CS Constantine in the semi-final (2-1, ap), while Chabab, unfortunate finalist of the last edition, won by ASO Chlef ( 1-2, ap), passed the pitfall of USM Alger (0-0, tab: 3-1).
The “Doyen”, crowned Algerian champion for the 8th time in its history, is now aiming for the double, while Chabab, vice-champion, hopes to save its season by winning the Algerian Cup. As a reminder, the two clubs have 8 Cups each, along with USM Alger and ES Sétif.
