The 2nd ordinary session of the Wilaya Popular Assembly (APW) was held this Sunday, under the leadership of its president, Mustapha Tani, in the presence of the wali, Djahid Mous, elected representatives of the Assembly, deputies, members of the executive as well as representatives of the associative movement and civil society.
In his speech, the P/APW read out the points on the agenda for the June session, namely: presentation of the 2023 administrative account, opening and transfer of 2024 credits, employment and social security system. The P/APW highlighted the State’s efforts to meet the needs of the population of the wilaya through the investment programs allocated to the municipalities.
The wali highlighted the number of jobs created including 34,193 new jobs, among these 18,271 jobs generated by the public administration sector and 15,922 jobs generated by the economic sector, in addition to 929 other positions jobs created by projects launched within the framework of encouraging investment.
According to the head of the executive, these new jobs aim to reduce unemployment in the region and allow better care for the thousands of graduates from the university system and people leaving professional training and education.
The colossal sums injected into development projects allocated to municipalities in terms of housing, opening up, AEP and electrification were the subject of figures read by the wali, who welcomed the support of the population for public actions, in application of the principles of participatory democracy in the choice of projects.
The issue relating to employment caught the attention of elected officials given that the evolution of indicators relating to employment provides information on the economic development of the wilaya, where unemployment affects all categories of the population of age. to work.
Although it is difficult to estimate the unemployment rate in the absence of specialist statistical sources, we are satisfied with figures showing the number of jobs created, as shown by the data provided on the basis of calculations prepared by the employment department services.
