The project to build a pediatric oncology hospital represents the ideal solution to meet the specific needs of children with cancer.
The care of its young patients requires a multidisciplinary and humanized approach, combining cutting-edge medical expertise and psychosocial support.
The goal of the El-BADR Cancer Aid Association is to create an environment where advanced medical technology coexists harmoniously with spaces designed for the comfort and well-being of children and their families.
“Adapted rest rooms, colorful and comfortable rooms, as well as medical staff trained in pediatric support are at the heart of our vision,” said Dr. Moussaoui, president of the El-BADR Association for Aid to Cancer Patients, during a meeting attended by a group of journalists at the conference room of the Association of Journalists of the Wilaya of Blida.
It was under the slogan “Let’s build together the El-Ihssan pediatric oncology hospital” that Dr. Moussaoui and Dr. Terkmane explained to the journalists and guests present the current situation of the future hospital.
“This project dates back to 2018. It was due to several administrative constraints that it could not see the light of day, until the arrival of the current wali of Blida, Brahim Ouchen, who really helped us and whom we thank in passing, by granting us the concession deed, which made it easier for us to obtain the building permit,” they declared.
It should be noted that the plot of land is 3,280 m2. The center will have a care center with a capacity of 78 beds, with all the services related to childhood oncology, a social center of 500 m2 of which 300 m2 built on R+3 with 30 beds and which will have rooms for the patient and his mother, a restaurant, as well as a room for recreational and sports activities and educational classes.
“The goal of the project is to create a special hospital to treat childhood cancer independently of other pediatric services in order to improve medical care for children. I remind the audience that we have 2,000, or even 3,000 new cases of childhood cancer every year. Once our project is implemented, and given the characteristics of the hospital, the cure rate will be 80% instead of 30% today,” according to Dr. Terkman, Vice President of the El-BADR Association.
“Through the press, we are launching an appeal to all charitable souls wanting to participate in the construction of this project. They are welcome because, without them, the project will hardly move forward. We are banking on its opening within two and a half years,” he added.
