Tebboune présente ses condoléances à Poutine – Le Jeune Indépendant


The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent, this Wednesday, a message of condolences to the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, following the death of the Russian ambassador to Algeria, Valerian Shuvaev.

“It is with great sadness that we learned the news of the death of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Algeria, Valerian Shuvaev,” the message read.

“He was a worthy representative of his country and greatly contributed to the strengthening and consolidation of relations of friendship and cooperation between our two friendly countries,” stressed President Tebboune.

“Following this tragedy, I present, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Algerian people and government, my sincere condolences to the Russian government and people, and through you, to the bereaved family of the deceased, we express our deepest sympathy and condolences,” the message continued.

“While reiterating our sincere condolences, we ask you to accept, Mr. President, the expression of our highest consideration,” concludes President Tebboune’s message.

The Russian ambassador died suddenly this Wednesday in Algiers. He was appointed to this post in 2022.

A French speaker, Shuvaev was a specialist in the Maghreb and North Africa. Before his appointment to Algeria he was stationed in Rabat.
