Inauguration de nouvelles structures – Le Jeune Indépendant

The British Council Algeria has just inaugurated its new offices and learning centre in Algiers. The event was celebrated in the presence of several official figures from both the British and Algerian sides. This was stated in a press release from the British Council Algeria. This ceremony was enhanced by the presence of many representatives of the Algerian education sector, including the Chief of Staff of the Minister of National Education, Mebrouk Lemchounchi, the Director of Cooperation and International Relations at the same ministry, Mostefa Djalout, the head of the International Book Fair, Mohamed Iguerb, the British Ambassador to Algeria, Sharon Wardle, the Deputy Director General of the British Council, Kate Ewart-Biggs OBE, as well as key figures and other partners.

On this occasion, the Deputy Director General of the British Council said that “participants had the opportunity to discover our new facilities and to immerse themselves in the innovative solutions and unique service that define the British Council. She added that “this new site marks a new chapter in our beautiful history in Algeria, offering our community better facilities and services”. Regarding the partnership, she stressed that “we are excited to continue serving our students and partners with excellence and dedication”.

Furthermore, during her visit to Algeria, Kate Ewart-Biggs OBE met with a number of British Council partners. She also met with the Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belaabed, to discuss their continued commitment to educational development, particularly in supporting the unprecedented demand for the English language in Algeria. In addition, she participated in the Alumni (UK) United Kingdom event, further strengthening links between alumni of the English education system. She also had the opportunity to engage with inspiring young people, entrepreneurs, researchers, artists and thought leaders, to understand how the opportunities offered by the British Council add value to both the UK and Algeria, connecting people, bridging visions and strengthening the strong bond between the two countries.
