Neutralization of 30 terrorists and 223 support elements during the first half of 2024

Thirty terrorists and 223 support elements were neutralized during various operations carried out by units and detachments of the National People’s Army (ANP), during the first half of 2024 across the national territory, indicates an operational report made public the day before yesterday Saturday by the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
“In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the ANP carried out, during the first half of 2024, several operations which resulted in qualitative results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory, and this, to thwart all attempts aimed at undermining the security and stability of our country as well as its sovereignty,” said the same source.
As part of the fight against terrorism, “our Armed Forces proceeded to the neutralization of 30 terrorists, 223 support elements, the discovery and destruction of 10 casemates and shelters serving as refuges for terrorist groups, as well as the recovery of 26 firearms, 23 bombs of different types and quantities of ammunition,” the statement added.
As part of the fight against organized crime, the various units of the ANP “have increased their efforts to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, which has led to the arrest of 1,432 drug traffickers and the thwarting of the introduction of 176 quintals of processed kif from the borders with Morocco, while 129 kilograms of cocaine and 11,726,988 psychotropic tablets were seized.”
