The national success rate for the Baccalaureate exam, June 2024 session, is 58.28%, an increase, indicated the Minister of National Education, of 7.68% compared to last year when the success rate was 50.60%. “The national success rate is experiencing a qualitative leap in this area,” he said. Noting that the mathematics stream won the prize by recording the highest success rate with 82.25%.
Speaking at a press conference held at the ministry headquarters, Abdelhakim Belaabed noted that the mathematics high school in Kouba (Algiers), Mohamed Mokhbi, had an exceptional success rate of 100%.
“The best average at the national level went to a mathematician, Mohamed El Amine Mokrane, from the Belkebir Abdelkader high school (Tipasa), mathematics stream, who took first place with an average of 19.62, while second place went to Maria Ines Rahab, from the Colonel Lotfi high school (Oran), experimental sciences stream, with an average of 19.54, followed by Oulem Wissal, from the Achi brothers high school (Khenchela), with an average of 19.52,” observed the first person in charge of the sector.
By specialty, continued Abdelhakim Belaabed, the success rate was 64.11% in the specialty of foreign languages, while in the specialty of management and economics the success rate was 47.38% and in experimental sciences 61.62%. Noting that for the Arts stream, whose Baccalaureate exam was held for the first time in Algeria this year, the success rate reached 79.45%.
Regarding the averages obtained, the minister announced that the number of candidates who obtained an average higher than 18/20 is 2,779, those who obtained averages higher than 16/20 are 24,041.
In a press release published on the evening of the day before yesterday Thursday on its Facebook page, the Ministry of Justice reported a success rate for the baccalaureate exam (2024 session) for prisoners in penitentiary establishments, of 63.43%, an increase, noted the same source, of 18.9% compared to the 2023 session. “The baccalaureate exams which took place under the supervision of the National Office of Examinations and Competitions (ONEC) and supervised by teachers from the National Education sector within the framework of the agreement signed between the Ministries of Justice and National Education, saw the registration of 5,482 candidates including 90 women,” the Ministry of Justice said in its press release. Noting that the Babar penitentiary establishment in the wilaya of Khenchela recorded the best average 18.39.
On the same day, the day before yesterday, Thursday, the Ministry of National Education indicated in a press release that the announcement of the results of the Baccalaureate exam, June 2024 session, will take place on Thursday at 4 p.m. “For school candidates, the lists of winners will be posted on the same day (Thursday, editor’s note) at the same time at all educational establishments whose students took the exam, on the website of the National Office of Examinations and Competitions (Onec) https://bac.onec.dz and via the space dedicated to parents https://awlya.education.gov.dz. The results will also be announced by free SMS via the three mobile phone operators (Mobilis, Djezzy and Ooredoo) by dialing the code *567#,” the same source said.
