Le Général d’Armée Chanegriha reçoit le Commandant de l’AFRICOM

The head of the United States Africa Command, Army General Michael Langley, highlighted on Tuesday the “pioneering” and “pivotal” role of Algeria in the fight against terrorism and the establishment of security and stability in the Sahel region.

At the end of the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Commander of Africom declared that “Algeria shares with the United States of America some concerns regarding the expansion of violent extremist organizations throughout Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in the Sahel region”, stressing that Algeria “has played, yesterday as today, a key role in the fight against terrorism in this region”.
