The Constitutional Court recalled, yesterday Tuesday in a press release, the procedures for introducing appeals relating to decisions to reject candidacies for the presidential election of September 7, by the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE).
“The Constitutional Court reminds citizens that in the event that their candidacy for the election of the President of the Republic is rejected by the ANIE, they have the right to lodge an appeal with the Constitutional Court, in accordance with Article 252 (paragraph 2) of the organic law relating to the electoral system and Article 56 of the regulations establishing the operating rules of the Constitutional Court, according to the following conditions and forms.”
Thus, “the person concerned must have been the subject of a decision by the ANIE rejecting his candidacy”, specifies the press release, adding that “the appeal must be filed with the registry of the Constitutional Court, by the person concerned or his duly authorized representative, within a maximum period of forty-eight (48) hours following the time of notification of the decision”.
“The appeal must be justified and signed by the person concerned or their duly authorized representative,” the same source emphasizes.
