Speaking in the 159th issue of the magazine ”Echorta”, the President of the Council of the Nation, Salah Goudjil, declared that the national project of building a new Algeria was resolutely continuing. Mr. Salah Goudjil’s statement comes on the occasion of the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the Independence and Youth Day and the National Day of the Algerian Police. Mr. Goudjil added that Algeria “will remain sovereign in its decisions and choices by resolutely pursuing its national project of building a new Algeria.”
“The strong dynamics that Algeria is experiencing today are the result of the smooth democratic change based on the guarantee of freedoms and the promulgation of laws and mechanisms that have enshrined the participation of citizens in political life and achieved overall national development,” said the President of the Council of the Nation. Regarding the presidential election of September 7, Mr. Goudjil indicated that this deadline will mark “the beginning of the stage of consolidating the gains obtained and the achievements accomplished over the past four years.” Evoking the glorious November Revolution, he stressed that “this great Revolution, which freed the country and the people from the colonial yoke, will remain an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a symbol of freedom and sovereignty in the world.” He also called on the Algerian people to preserve the symbolism of the November Revolution, which he described as “one of the greatest revolutions of the 20th century that contributed to the promotion of the UN doctrine on decolonization,” citing, in this regard, “the historic resolution 1514 of the United Nations General Assembly that recognized the right of peoples to self-determination.” On the occasion of the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the Algerian Police,
Mr. Goudjil called on the personnel of this body to “continue to fulfill their duty in the service of the homeland with determination and pride”, praising “the level of development and professionalism achieved by this security body, allowing it to fully fulfill its missions in preserving the security of citizens and protecting their property.” “The professionalism achieved by the Algerian Police is the fruit of colossal efforts made over the years,” he concluded.
