Algeria and Vietnam have a promising future in the field of investment, said Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Algeria Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh during his visit to the province of Bordj Bou Arréridj. The visit of the Vietnamese ambassador to Algeria was held at the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Indeed, in a statement to the press on the sidelines of his visit, the Vietnamese ambassador spoke of the strong and distinguished relations between Algeria and Vietnam, affirming that the two countries “have a promising future ahead of them in the field of investment and cooperation.” He added in the same context that the presence of the economic counselor of the Vietnamese embassy in Algeria and many businessmen from his country “is proof of the strong will to exploit opportunities for cooperation and investment.” It was also insisted during the meeting on the strengthening of exchanges between businessmen of the two countries and the exploitation of partnership opportunities by intensifying the participation of delegations of the two countries in trade exhibitions held in Algeria and Vietnam and the exchange of information on the opportunities offered in the two countries. The Vietnamese delegation received a presentation on the economic potential of the wilaya of Bordj Bou Arréridj and investment opportunities, while one of the Vietnamese investors gave a presentation on the trends of the Vietnamese market before giving way to discussions between operators from the two countries. The Vietnamese ambassador and the accompanying delegation were received by the wali of Bordj Bou Arréridj, Kamel Nouicer, who discussed investment opportunities in the wilaya. Sources that remain to be confirmed indicate that according to figures that would have been given by the Algerian National Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (Algex), trade between the two countries reached 262.5 million dollars in 2021, then totaled 140 million dollars in the first six months of 2022. As a reminder, the ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Algeria, Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh also paid a working visit to the wilaya of Constantine. During this visit, His Excellency the Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria reiterated his country’s willingness to further consolidate bilateral ties with Algeria through strengthening investment in the economic field.
