The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, dwelt, the day before yesterday Thursday in Algiers, on the unprecedented figures achieved in recent years by Algeria in the field of non-hydrocarbon exports, which have exceeded, he revealed, the threshold of 7 billion dollars. Affirming that the increase in non-hydrocarbon exports reflected the achievements and reforms implemented in accordance with the commitments of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening the social front and correcting the dysfunctions that have hindered development in the past.
“This is an indicator of the beginnings of a global foreign trade policy aimed at reaching 29 billion dollars in non-hydrocarbon exports by 2030,” he said.
Speaking at the ceremony of the President of the Republic’s Prize for the best exporter, chaired by the President of the Republic at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center, the Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion said that this increase in non-hydrocarbon exports reflects a consecration of the commitments of the President of the Republic.
Referring to the development of a roadmap to assess national capacities in this area, through, he said, an Investment Action Plan oriented towards products for which Algeria has great capacities, the study of each sector and the support of exporters. “The continuation of this approach will free our economy from dependence on hydrocarbons and thus strengthen the country’s economic independence,” Tayeb Zitouni noted.
Referring to the President of the Republic’s Prize for the best exporter, the Minister of Commerce welcomed its recent supervision by a Presidential Decree. He also saluted the jury composed of representatives of several ministerial departments and institutions related to export.
For his part, the president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula, highlighted the dynamics recorded in recent years in terms of exports. Thanks, he said, to Algeria’s return to the international trade scene.
“This dynamic has allowed the Algerian product to access global markets and to be present on different continents, recalling the recent initiatives thanks to which various national products are now present in Europe,” observed Kamel Moula.
There is, continued the president of Crea, a real synergy between the State and economic operators.
Welcoming, in passing, the reforms undertaken by Algeria and the initiatives aimed at boosting economic activity, particularly in the agricultural, industrial and service sectors.
During this ceremony of the President of the Republic’s Prize for the best exporter, chaired by the President of the Republic at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers, prizes were awarded to several exporters in different sectors of production and services, selected by the jury.
The award categories are exporters of industrial and pharmaceutical products, exporters of agricultural products, exporters of services, exporters to the African continent, the youngest exporter and women exporters.
